Rains to adapt

The arrival of the monsoon brings a huge sigh of relief, accompanied by the entire city preparing for their ANNUAL MONSOON ROUTINES. Shopkeepers begin adding an affordable canopy to their shops for the customers to stand. People living in chawls make sure to air-tighten their homes, preventing rainwater from entering.

The child in every human wanders with the thoughts of getting wet in the rains and letting the water drops hit the core of your soul, making every length count. The city also adapts itself to the subduing onset, and it's also the people who alter their patterns and find ways to crawl into a nap sack, keeping out the rains.

For the city’s homeless, it is time to find a makeshift shelter to sleep under. Some of them smiled as they explained matter-of-factly how they improvised to keep dry during the nights. But to them, it is exactly where the constant rhythm of rain drops ceases and those forty-winks are put to rest.

I believe- the human brain is a beautiful paradox; various daily experiences drive me to this conclusion. Watching people find ways to barely close their eyes; protecting themselves from rains - is a precedent of them finding a way to live.

A shelter isn't always walls secured by some expensive locks; it is more than those concrete slabs and roofs come to life. One middle-aged man had slept under a mosquito net in a van his friend and he drove during the day. Two women, who had a child with them, said they waited till trucks stopped for the night and found one to sleep under.

Sheets of tarpaulin are fashioned into blankets and tents, and sometimes the people sleeping under those sheets use their limbs as weights to keep the edges of the makeshift tent down.

It is all hidden in the beauty of this city. It gets lost in the struggle to run for shelter, to stand by until the rains stop. While these people find their homes under these temporary roofs; pause a lifetime of their

happiness, to continue, to sleep, to survive.
