Fika (slow down & appreciate the good) .......Story of an Interior Designer… On making of a Home.

Fika [fee-ka] in Swedish means having a moment to slow down and appreciate the good things in life. None of us have ever had a moment where we could really look up to our home and go through each and every corner to make sure it makes us remember a story for why it is designed so.

Well it is said a room should never allow the eye to settle in one place & I love to decorate spaces.

Being a student of B.VOC interior design…
I learnt a lot of things! for me it’s not ‘B.VOC’ I call it ‘B.WOKE’.
I call it so because creative minds never sleep.

A life of a designer is not just submissions or materials, for us Design is a journey of Discovery. We as students are mentored and guided to design with style, design with smile.

Only now, I understand, what it takes to call it “HOME SWEET HOME”.
One’s house should reflect the personality of the person living there.
People spending time in quarantine now started using space wisely.

There are various types of people; the ones who own big bungalows; others apartments, maybe a studio apartment but it is not about how big the house is it is about how happy your home is.

A writer said:-
An empty room is a story waiting to happen, & you are the author…

So why not make it a remarkable story, be innovative, experiment things. I bet it’s fun and it’s said ‘an idle brain is a devil's house why not be creative and make it an angel's house’.
It could be by sticking up thoughts, painting the wall or hanging up some DIY work, where doctors save lives by constructing a healthy life, designers save lives by constructing a life worth living....
